Senior Superintendent of Construction
- Under general supervision, assist with project development and design activities including site surveys, CAD drawings, quantity takeoffs, purchasing equipment and materials, and other project management tasks. - Supervise active construction projects and contracts, perform and document formal construction inspections, evaluate contractor performance. - Perform project management tasks including attending scoping meetings, preparing scoping documentation, preparing project cost estimates, communication with contractors and other project staff, coordination of project closeout. - Assist in the review and approval of project cost proposals from the Department's contractors. - Review and recommend approval of contractor payment applications. - Assist Regional management with Job Order Contract workflow and project identification/scoping.

Minimum Qualification
Minimum qualifications for Provisional Appointment:
Promotional:
Must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an Assistant Superintendent of Construction. Open Competitive:
Must have either 1. an associate's degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, architectural technology, or construction technology AND three years of qualifying experience as described below; Or 2. five years of qualifying experience as described below. Experience assisting in the management of multi-trade construction projects from inception to completion to include cost estimating, construction planning and scheduling; contract document reading and interpretation, including agreement and conditions, plans and specifications; and construction inspection to ensure compliance with building codes for construction projects. Non-Qualifying
Experience:
Experience in constructing one single-family dwelling. Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC or Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis. or Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 17 or higher and:
Transfer eligible under Section 70.4:
Must meet the open competitive minimum qualifications above. If there is a viable promotion examination eligible list for this position, candidates who qualify based on Section 70.4 transfer options cannot be considered.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
